autumn fungus

Walking up to my front door I spotted a bright yellow leaf on my otherwise green plant. It reminded me of the changing seasons up north that we don’t get here. The bottom of the leaf was covered in some kind of hairy fungus that was hanging from it like a long white beard. In Florida it takes a fungus to give us the brightly colored leaves of Autumn.

None of the shots came out very well so I messed with the saturation of the green and the yellow until it looked sick rather than just seasonal. The original is shown below.

Sir! What have you been doing? Wonder if the leaves were whispering, “There’s a fungus among us.”
